Even in a little thing

20th April, 2008. 7:15 pm.

I am ball-shaped and very contented. We had a lovely seder last night. I don't know which bit was my favourite. Maybe it was when I got out of the car and a teenage streak nearly bowled me over in the enthusiasm of hugging me. Or maybe it was when a sister and I burst into giggles as we counted the separate tunes floating around the two tables (three families = 3 melodies, I guess). Or maybe it was being at a table surrounded by some of my favourite people. Or maybe it was the food. Or maybe it was... There are too many possibilities.

In other news, I am clever and still have my virus.

My mother is cleverer and she developed a pet lizard. It was less than an inch long and hid in a corner of the staircase. We consulted on how it was eating and what to give it as drink and how to avoid stepping on it. It hid under a leaf for a bit. I sat and observed while my mother tried to catch fuit flies for it. (I'm not a kind daughter - and I *am* easily amused.)

Today she set the lizard free. Today I've decided it's time to set my virus free. The lizard is happily ensconced in a corner of the garden, after sunning itself on a brick and getting the lay of the land. It's too early to say about the virus, but it has definitely outstayed its welcome.

Tomorrow is feast-free.

So much freedom: it must be Passover.
